I) Free CSA Images on French Paper How many images can I download and use? For each individual, licensee, or company, there is a maximum download of 5 images per day with a limit of 365 images per year. (For example, a company with ten designers can use a total of 365 images per year.) A limit of up to 30 Free CSA Images may be used on a single project or series of products. How long can I use the CSA Image(s)? All images licensed as Free CSA Images on French Paper may be used for up to one year. Extended terms for reprints require re-license. Can I use Free CSA Image(s) on products for sale? Yes. Products using Free CSA Images on French Paper may be sold through retail or wholesale channels, including Etsy and similar sites. Products using Free CSA Images may not be sold through nor posted on print-on-demand sites, including CafePress.com and all other P.O.D. sites and similar software. Can I use Free CSA Image(s) online? Yes. Projects printed on French Paper using Free CSA Images may be posted online in the context of the printed piece to display, promote, or sell the printed project (up to 600 x 600 pixels in size for a one-year term). The following notice/link is required for online use: ©CSA Images/French Paper. Can I use the downloaded image on anything? No. Free CSA Images and design elements are only available for use on projects printed on any French Paper grade. Permissible projects must be in the form of end products entirely comprised of French Paper, including all reprints. A free image may not be used in any digital, broadcast or publication format, except as discussed below. It is impermissible to print a free image on French Paper and use a photo or image of that printed piece for any promotional purposes, except promoting the sale of the printed piece itself. For any uses in which the final product is not printed on French Paper, a license must be purchased through csaimages.com or by calling CSA Images at 1-888-339-1263 or 1-612-339-1441. Do I have to use the copyright notice? Yes. Printed projects or products using Free CSA Images on French require a small adjacent copyright notice as follows: ©CSA Images/French Paper. II) CSA Images - Rights Managed (RM) Do I own an image once I purchase it? No. By downloading an image, you are granted a limited license to use an image in accordance with specific terms and conditions. All images are owned by CSA Images. For further information, please see the End User License Agreement. If you are interested in an exclusive use of an image or to use the image other than on French Paper, please call CSA Images at 1-888-339-1263 or 1-612-339-1441. Are CSA Images Royalty Free? No. CSA Images are not royalty free and are not clip art. All CSA Images are rights managed and are licensed on a fee-per-use basis. What is a Rights Managed Image? Rights managed images are licensed for a specific usage and may not be used in any other way. III) Search Methods How do I search by keyword? On the top right hand side of every page is a keyword search box. Enter the most apt or common word(s) that describes the image(s) you would like displayed. The default will be to search among all of the CSA Images collections. If you would like to search within a particular collection (such as Illustrations or Elements), select from the "Collection" drop down menu that appears beneath the keyword search box. By doing so your keyword search will only find images within the collection you specify. If your search returns no results, please try using a different related word or expand your search to include all collections. How can I see images without searching by keyword? You can browse individual collections by clicking on the collection name (All Collections, Illustrations, Icons, Elements) in the drop down menu that appears when you scroll over the keyword search box in the upper right French Paper navigation bar. For more detailed browsing, you can also browse CSA Images by going to the Free CSA Images on French main page and click on the image bars that indicate each CSA collection. IV) Shopping Cart What is the shopping cart? The shopping cart is the place where you begin to license Free CSA Images for use on French Paper. Items in your shopping cart may be discarded or licensed at any time. To discard, click "Remove from cart" next to the item. If you would like to license the item(s) in your shopping cart, press the "Continue Purchase" button at the bottom right side of the page and proceed from there. You may leave and return to your shopping cart as you continue shopping. How do I get a shopping cart? You will automatically be given a shopping cart when you register for an account on FrenchPaper.com. How do I add an item to my shopping cart? To add an image or element to your shopping cart, simply click on the shopping cart icon that accompanies the image you wish to purchase. What if I attempt to add an item to my shopping cart, but that item does not appear in my shopping cart? The preferences in your browser must be set to accept cookies. If your browser is set to accept cookies and the problem persists, please call CSA Images at 1-888-339-1263 or 1-612-339-1441 or e-mail csa@csaimages.com. How do I remove an item from my shopping cart? Click the "Remove from cart" button next to the item. V) Security Is there online security to protect my account information? Yes. When you begin the checkout process, you will notice that the security icon on your browser will go from being an "unlocked" icon to a "locked" icon. This means that information you enter such as your address, and phone numbers are encrypted and secure via Network Solutions. VI) Checkout How do I check out? You begin the checkout process from your shopping cart. When you have finished shopping, check your shopping cart to make sure it has everything you wish to license (up to 10 images a day) and then click the "Continue Purchase" button at the bottom right side of the page. The next step in the secure checkout process is to enter your personal information (which may be pre-filled from registration and past visit to the website), use and reference information, and your credit card information. You will also be asked to click an "I agree to the Terms and Conditions" button. When finished, click the "Complete Purchase" button. Please click this button only one time. If you press "Complete Purchase" more than once, your order may be duplicated. Once your license is confirmed, you will be taken to a page that states, "Please Print This Page As Your Invoice." We recommend that you print this page for your records. Please follow the prompts to the download center for the images or elements you have purchased. VII) Image Delivery Information How are CSA Images (RM) licensed online delivered? CSA Images licensed online are downloaded directly from this website. Once the checkout process is complete, you will be directed to the page where you may download the image(s). The image(s) you licensed will also be available for you to download or re-download for up to 2 weeks from when you complete the check out process. To access your recently licensed image(s) click on "Your Account" or “Download Center” found at the top of any page and select the most recent “View Order”. VIII) Downloading Images How do I download a comp image? Go to the extended/largest view of the image. Then drag and drop the image to your desktop. You will receive a 400 pixel x 400 pixel, 72 dpi file. To increase the file size, change the resolution (with constrained proportions checked) to 72 dpi in Photoshop. What is the download center? The “Download Center” is the location were high resolution CSA Images are placed after you have licensed them. How do I download images immediately after checkout? When you complete your online license, there is a link at the bottom of the confirmation page that will take you to the download center. You will be able to see your most recent license as well as every image licensed over the last three months. Click on the link and you will be taken to a new page where your image(s) may be downloaded by clicking the "Download" button. How do I download previously licensed images on a return visit? If you leave the Free CSA Images portion of the French Paper website after you obtain a license and return later to download the image(s), you will have to log in using the same user name and password with which you initially licensed the image(s). To access your recently licensed image(s) click on “Your Account” or “Download Center” found at the top of any page and select a specific order number/date and then click the corresponding red “View Order”. The image(s) you have licensed will be available for you to download for 30 days from the date of the initial license. What if I license a Free CSA Image but cannot find it in the download center? Please go back to the home page and log in using your user name and password. Click on the "Download Center" button at the top of any page. If the image I'm downloading is opening up in my browser window, how can I get it to open on my desktop instead? Images will open in your browser window instead of your desktop if your browser preferences are set to open TIFF files in QuickTime. If you have a MAC operating system, hold down the option key and click on the download button. The image will download onto your desktop. If you have a PC operating system, “right click” on the download button and the image will download onto your desktop. Note: For future downloading, you may want to change your browser's preferences so that all TIFF files are opened by Adobe Photoshop. Once this is done, your file will download onto your desktop. What if I get an error message when I try to download my image? Please go back to the home page. Click on the "Download Center" button. Log in as a returning customer using your user name and password and try downloading the image again. If you need further help, please call CSA Images at 1-888-339-1263 or 1-612-339-1441. IX) General Use and Image File Questions May I alter any of the images from CSA? Upon obtaining a license to use CSA Images, the image(s) may be cropped or resized, and portions of an image may be diminished or removed. Images may not be used as a basis to create a different image or derivative image; and logos and trademarks may not be applied to any image. You may not claim copyright or trademark of any altered image. The image copyright shall always remain with CSA Images. Can I use my CSA Images username and password on the French Paper website? No, you must register on the French Paper website in order to access the “Free on French” CSA Images. If you are already registered on the French site you do not need to re-register, you can use your current username and password. What is the file format and size of the image file? CSA black and white images and elements are Photoshop tiff files approximately 600 dpi at 6" x 8". Are CSA Images available as Vector files? CSA Images are not available as Vector files. CSA high-resolution Tiff images capture the authenticity and detail of hand-drawn illustration and the beautifully tactile look of ink printed on paper. Are CSA Images model released? No. The images that depict recognizable people are not model released. These photos make up only a fraction of the collection; and you, your employer, and/or your client, if applicable, license these images at your/their own risk. |
